I honestly never took the time to enjoy the great outdoors until I purchased my first digital SLR camera. When I purchased the camera several years ago, I decided to take it into some woods near my brothers house that I had heard stories about for years. The area that I am talking about is Owl Woods, which is part of Braddock Bay Park, in Rochester, New York. So into Owl Woods I go, camera strapped around my neck, not sure what to expect, as I had never been in these woods before. It did not take long for me to realize that I would be spending a lot of time in the future in these woods. Just a few minutes in, a short distance down the trail, I came across a Long Eared Owl sitting on an open bough of a conifer soaking up the warmth of the morning sun. That was it, the hook was in. I now try to spend any free time seeking out wildlife in the woods and parks around Rochester, New York. It is amazing to me the number of different types of birds and wildlife I have been able to observe and photograph during my walks. I am still " new " to photography in general, but learn things each time I am out in the woods with my camera. Have fun looking at my photos |
